Our wheel balancing service helps reduce vibrations while you drive.
Many people confuse wheel balance with wheel alignment. It is easy to understand the confusion since the two are somewhat related. But wheel balancing is all about having a wheel-tire combination that is well-tuned.
Signs That You’re Wheels Need to Be Balanced
Like other car issues there are several signs that you can be on the lookout for so you can check if the wheels of your car need to be balanced. Here are some of those signs:
- Vibration in the steering wheel when driving
- Vibration in floorboard when you reach a certain speed
- Irregular wear patterns on the tire
The vibration is caused by the fact that the tire is not running on the road surface smoothly. The unbalanced wheels can put unnecessary strain on the tires, the wheel bearings and the suspension system of your vehicle and can cost you more in the long run.
How We Balance Your Wheels
We check wheel balance using a wheel balancer that can sense even a small difference around the wheels. A tiny amount of difference in weight can cause a great deal of vibration. Once we have detected that a wheel is unbalanced we can correct that on the spot. We can balance your wheel and tire assembly by placing weights opposite the heavy spots of the tire. Our wheel balancer can also check and correct the trueness as well as stagger of the wheel and tire assembly using a lazer to check forty eight spots of the wheel and tire while being balanced.
